The government is assessing the possibility of carrying an aircraft carrying Angolans who fled the war in Ukraine and are refugees in Poland, probably on the 8th and 9th of this month, to Luanda.
The information, not confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Relations, was provided by a source that follows the process of evacuation and reception of the Angolan refugees, who, in Warsaw, the Polish capital, are staying at the Start Hotel Aramis. The hotel costs are being entirely borne by the Angolan government, which created a budget for this operation, with three lines of action: evacuation, reception and transport to Luanda.
The two dates put forward by the source as being the dates for the Angolan refugees to leave Poland are related to the end of the period of stay imposed by the Polish government on refugees in transit, and in this category are those who, not being Ukrainian, have to return to their countries of origin.
Independently of the conjecture, it is certain, according to the source, that the Angolans in Poland will not be able to stay for a period longer than 15 days. Poland is the country with which Angola established "diplomatic contact and agreement", which is at the origin of the entry and provisional stay in the territory of our compatriots fleeing the violent war in Ukraine.
