Possible Agricultural Super Power

In partnership with France, the Malanje Higher Institute of Agri-Food Technologies (ISTAM) is inaugurated in northern Angola.

The Angolan president, Joao Lourenço said that the higher education institution "came to cover a large gap," related to the need to transform products from the field, which requires technical specialised knowledge.

The new degree in Agri-Food Engineering shows the special attention that the government has been giving to teaching and education, opening doors to investors in the agri-industry looking for the technical and specialised staff needed to transform local products.

More modern techniques in order to improve the food processing and transformation industries.

Looking to the future, the aim of this project is to extend it to more parts of the country, mainly provinces with agricultural potential, where there may be potential interested in innovative and up-to-date training.
